MOUNT CARMEL, Ohio (WLWT) — Eighty-four-year-old Floreda Foister is a huge Bengals fan, but she has one request for sports reporters.
“They talk too much about Burrow. Burrow, Burrow. I want to talk about him,” Foister said as she pointed at a picture of her favorite player, Ja’Marr Chase.
“He’s my man,” Foister said.
Chase wears the number one on the field and is number one in Foister’s heart.
“I would think I’m his number one fan,” she said.
The soon-to-be 85-year-old started fangirling over the Bengals wide receiver during last year’s playoffs. Then her family started giving her presents, just as a Chase shirt.
“Number one. that’s Chase. That’s mamaw’s favorite,” she said as she opened the gifts. “Oh, I love that Ja’Marr Chase.”
Foister said her love for the Bengals began decades ago when she and her late husband, Harold, would watch games together.
“I think I’ve always been a fan of all the wide receives the Bengals have had,” Foister said.
But Chase tops them all. Even watching Chase highlights never gets old.
“When our family is watching the game, I’ll get a text from my mom and say ‘Mamaw’s man just scored a touchdown.’ That’s what he’s referred to in our house is mamaw’s man,” said Foister’s granddaughter Kristy Hook.
If she was a betting granny, Foister said her money would be on her man.
“Ya know, Vegas has got buffalo to win it by three points, three-and-a-half points, but I believe they’re going to win it with him,” Foister said, again pointing at Chase.
