John Bolton announces candidacy for President
(KYMA, KECY/CNN) - The 2024 Presidential officially a two candidate race. Former ambassador and Trump's National Security Advisor John Bolton has thrown his hat in the ring for president!
Bolton, a staple in the George W. Bush administration, was adamant that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction, and has been hawkish on foreign policy ever since.
Bolton parted from the Trump administration after the President said he disagreed with his National Advisor, who wanted the former President to shepherd a regime change in Iran.
Trump also contradicted Bolton's statement that North Korea violated U.N. resolutions by testing short range missiles. While Bolton may be a familiar figure, he has been polling at under 1% in almost every poll.
Trump's orbit says he is most nervous about Ron DeSantis's entry in the range. Bolton's candidacy may help Trump; the former President could continue to the claim the mantle that he is a less partisan Republican than President's past, pointing to Bolton's aggressive military stances where the President could claim he is more levelheaded on those issues.
