(CNN) - Authorities in Pennsylvania are charging a 16-year-old as an adult after an alleged murder confession on Instagram.
The police took Joshua Cooper into custody on Friday in Bensalem, a township northeast of Philadelphia.
According to police there, Cooper asked for help disposing of a body during a live Instagram chat with a friend.
The mother of the teenage girl he chatted with immediately called Bensalem Police.
Responding officers found the body of a young woman who had apparently died from a gunshot wound.
Cooper reportedly tried to flee the scene when police arrived but they captured him quickly.
While he is denied bail, the 16-year-old has several adult charges, including criminal homicide.
