Shaunae Miller-Uibo won the women’s 400-meter final for the second consecutive Olympic Games, making her the second in history to accomplish the feat. Meanwhile, USA’s Allyson Felix won her tenth medal.

Kenya’s Faith Kipyegon set an Olympic record in defense of her gold medal. Great Britain’s Laura Muir was determined to medal and finished in second. Dutch threat Sifan Hassan crossed third in the women’s 1500m race

Jamaica captured their first women’s 4x100m relay win since 2004. They crossed with a time of 41.02. The U.S. finished in second, medaling for the third straight Olympics.

Anders Mol and Christian Sorum secured Norway’s first beach volleyball gold medal with a straight-set win over Viacheslav Krasilnikov and Oleg Stoyanovskiy of the Russian Olympic Committee.

In the women’s 5th place match, Simone Van de Kraats’ effort wasn’t enough to help her team overcome Australia’s attack. The Aussies pretty easily clinched 5th place beating the Dutch 14-7.

Italy comes from behind to just edge out Great Britain for the one one hundredths of a second victory in the men’s 4x100m relay. Canada claims the bronze.

Setting up what’s sure to be a thrilling final in men’s 10-meter platform diving at the Tokyo Olympics, the Russian Olympic Committee’s Viktor Minibaev earned the top spot in Saturday’s semifinals.

Mone Inami birdies the 15th hole in the final round of the Women’s Golf Competition to get into medal contention. This putt gave the Japanese golfer four straight birdies in Round 4.

Australia’s Hannah Green drained an eagle putt on the par five 14th hole during the final round of the women’s golf competition in Tokyo. 

New Zealand’s Lydia Ko hit the flagstick- and the flag itself – with her approach on the 13th hole during the final round of the women’s competition. 

Qatar’s Ahmed Tijan and Cherif Younousse beat Latvia in straight sets to win the bronze medal in men’s beach volleyball. The duo won 21-12, 21-18 to take home Qatar’s first medal of any color in the event.

Uganda’s Joshua Cheptegei took home the gold medal in the men’s 5000-meter final, edging out Canada’s Mohammed Ahmed and USA’s Paul Chelimo. Ahmed and Chelimo took home silver and bronze, respectively.
