El Centro Aquatic Center has its first joint training of the summer

KYMA

EL CENTRO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - El Centro Fire Department (ECFD), American Medical Response (AMR), and El Centro Aquatic Center lifeguard staff worked together this week for a joint training exercise on traumatic and water-related emergencies.

Guard staff and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) worked together during this training showing their skills and knowledge of water and deck rescue.

EMS also learned from the guard staff about the responsibilities of a lifeguard and the equipment used on what is expected of both parties in order to maintain the proper care needed in an emergency.

El Centro junior lifeguards were also able to participate and volunteer as ‘victims’ and be able to observe the skills and learn the importance of early intervention with CPR.

The El Centro Aquatic Center would like to thank ECFD and AMR for providing their training to guard staff in order to improve their training skills for this summer in case of any emergencies.
