Golden Knights holds victory parade in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, Neva. (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - Fans of the Golden Knights hockey team filled the streets of Las Vegas for a victory parade held on saturday.

The Golden Knights had the city rallying behind them to celebrate its championship National Hockey League (NHL) victory.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police (LVMP) shut down Las Vegas Boulevard, from Flamingo to Tropicana, starting at 4:30pm to prepare for the festivities.

The parade began at 7:00pm at the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Flamingo Road and concluded at Tropicana Avenue.

There was also a victory rally scheduled after the parade at Toshiba Plaza.

More than 100,000 people were anticipated to flock to the strip.
