Eastbound lanes of Interstate 8 will be closed

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Starting this Sunday, all eastbound lanes of Interstate 8 between Winterhaven and Yuma will be closed.

All lanes of eastbound interstate eight between the Winterhaven and 4th Avenue exit in Imperial County to 16th Street in Yuma County will close starting this Sunday, May 14 through Thursday, May 19 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Keep an eye out for detours and plan extra travel time if you're in this area.

The closures are due to Colorado River Bridge improvements.
