Tulsi Takedown: Conning Congressman-Elect George Santos squirms in interview
WASHINGTON (CNN) - The ongoing saga of lying congressman-elect George Santos is too juicy to ignore. He had two interviews post-blowup with two conservative media outlets. Both hosts were notably friendly to him in their conversations.
But not so with Tulsi Gabbard. Filling in for Tucker Carlson, hosting Santos's first tv interview since the revelations. The former democrat proved her independent bonafides, even getting to the bottom as to whether or not Santos is really Jewish, after he claimed he has family who perished in the holocaust. Now the local district attorney is looking into bringing charges.
House GOP leader Kevin McCarthy is remaining silent on the matter, even as two fellow incoming GOP house members from New York issued statements criticizing santos’ lack of transparency.
One of those lawmakers-to-be, Congressman-elect Nick Lalota, is calling for an ethics investigation and potential law enforcement involvement if necessary.
Santos also under scrutiny for how he made his money – and how he was able to loan his campaign more than $700,000.
Santos tells news outlet Semafor he earned his money in the “capital introduction business” – and did “deal building” and “specialty” consulting for “high net worth individuals”
The Democrat, Robert Zimmerman, who lost to Santos just last month, is calling on him to resign – and to face him in a rematch.
