Virus cases in Yuma cause concern

The Tridemic of diseases raises concern for Yuma

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - A trio of COVID-19, RSV, and influenza viruses is plaguing the Yuma community.

The rise in cases has continued ever since the Thanksgiving holiday and cases continue to grow.

"I know yesterday we had 18 patients in-house for covid and we have so many positives for influenza throughout the outpatient and inpatient setting," said Dr. Kristina Diaz, Executive Medical Director of Primary Care at the Yuma Medical Center.

Dr. Diaz also emphasized washing hands frequently and practicing social distancing to keep yourself safe, as well as protect vulnerable groups of people such as children and the elderly.
