‘People who serve our country deserve to stay in our country,’ Rep. Vargas says for passage of veteran act

MGN

WASHINGTON (KYMA, KECY) - Representative Juan Vargas (D-Calif.) gave a statement on the Veteran Service Recognition Act passed by the U.S. House of Representatives.

“Immigrant veterans risked their lives to keep our nation safe, and they deserve a pathway to citizenship,” said Rep. Vargas.

“As an original co-sponsor of the Veteran Service Recognition Act, I’m proud to have worked alongside my Democratic colleagues to pass this landmark legislation. This is an important step toward giving our immigrant veterans the opportunity to become U.S. citizens. We should not turn our backs on those who put their lives on the line to secure and defend our freedoms. People who serve our country deserve to stay in our country.”
