Man shot to death in Seeley by deputies
SEELEY, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - A man was shot to death today by deputies in Seeley, California.
The Imperial County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a call about a man who pulled out a rifle and threatened to shoot the caller today around 1 p.m.
Imperial County Sheriff's Office (ICSO) says deputies went to the residence at 1:13 p.m. located around Holt Avenue and Main Street.
Deputies saw the man go back into the house and followed him.
ICSO says the deputies told dispatch that the man was resisting.
Deputies attempted to use a taser on them and the man continued to resist.
The man then struck a Deputy on the head with a blunt object and an officer-involved shooting happened says ICSO.
ICSO says the man was shot and deputies performed life-saving measures on him, to which the Imperial County Fire Department took over and pronounced him dead at 1:35 p.m.
Two Deputies were also injured and taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, no one else was injured says ICSO.
