North Carolina Walmart reopens following Friday shooting

LUMBERTON, N.C. (NBC) - A North Carolina Walmart will reopen Saturday after a shooting inside the store sent one person to the hospital Friday night.

The shooting happened just before 11:30am at the Walmart in Lumberton.

Police said it appeared to be an isolated incident between two individuals who know each other.

Witnesses say the two people had an aggressive argument before one of them opened fire.

"Anxiety but adrenaline kind of mixed, thinking about what could have happened. It could have been a tremendous loss of us today, for me, or my life could have been took," Shane Baker, a witness, spoke.

One person traveled to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police are working to find the suspected shooter, shown on surveillance footage leaving the store during the evacuation.

An investigation is ongoing.
