Team WACOG hosts fundraiser to combat Alzheimer’s
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - This Saturday, The Western Arizona Council of Governments, or Team WACOG for short, hosted a dine-and-donate fundraising event.
This is was in collaboration with 85350 Sports and Pizzaria in Somerton where Yuma Citizens enjoyed some great food and supported the fight against Alzheimer's.
The event started at 11am and ran till 4pm, and for the first twenty people who attended got a bag filled with free stuff like lotion, hand sanitizer, a laser pointer, a pill box, a pen and a magnet.
In addition, Team WACOG held a raffle where attendees could buy tickets. If they wanted three tickets, they would have to pay $2.00, but if they wanted six tickets, they would have to pay $5.00.
"Twenty percent goes to Team WACOG and then that's going to the Alzheimer's Association," Community Outreach & Program Promotion director Isabel Sandoval explained.
Whoever won the raffle wins an Amazon Alexa plus other prizes.
There will be another dine-and-donate fundraising event coming up in October. We will have more information on that very soon.
