Record heat waves as storms threaten power outages
(KYMA, KECY/ CNN) - Hot temperatures are alarming many states this week but temperatures aren't the only problem; another concern is the risk of storms knocking out power.
A dangerous heatwave continues in much of the U.S. as Yellowstone National Park is flooded and wildfires continue to burn in places like Arizona and California.
But Thursday, the National Weather Service predicts more dangerous temperatures in these areas and that is affecting power grids in some places that are struggling to keep up.
More than 100,000 customers across the U.S. had no power as of Thursday morning.
Now, forecasters say severe storms are moving through the lower Great Lakes Region, as well.
