2022 sees more alcohol abuse-related deaths compared to last year

(KYMA, KECY/CNN) - A study from the Medical Journal says more people in the United States are dying from complications related to alcohol abuse.

Deaths from alcohol abuse are up 22% compared to the year 2021.

Another increase was seen in people from 25 to 44 years old, up nearly 34%.

Some researchers are saying the rise in alcohol-related deaths could be due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
