News 11 Weather Authority: Temps turn upward

April 26th, 2022

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - High pressure has elevated our mercury, with daytime highs landing in the high 90s.

Yuma, El Centro and Imperial all have officially peaked at 96 degrees on this Tuesday.

But, the ridge is about to shift due to a disturbance rolling in from the Pacific.

This will be the catalyst of a return to some hefty wind gusts that could range between 15 to 30 miles per hour by Thursday.

A Wind Advisory is already in place for far Western Imperial County near Ocotillo.

It's not out of the realm of possibility that the advisory could also spread to other areas of the Desert Southwest by Thursday.
