Mother arrested after allegedly stabbing 15-year-old son in Yuma

Woman charged for attempted first degree murder

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Yuma Police Department says a 15-year-old boy was stabbed by his own mother who is being charged for attempted first degree murder.

On April 25, at about 9:15 p.m., officers arrived in the area of Avenue A and Desert Sun Drive due to a call about a disturbance.

Officers found the boy who was stabbed after getting into an argument with his mother.

Diana Diaz, 36, was arrested while the victim was taken to Yuma Regional Medical Center and is in stable condition.
