News 11 Weather Authority: More wind concerns

April 22nd, 2022

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The latest upper level system is bringing some rain and even snow into some areas of the West.

For the Desert Southwest, it's all about hefty winds and a brief cool-down.

We had wind gusts that topped off between 30 to 35 miles per hour with reduced visibility in some areas.

The National Weather Service had also issued an area-wide Wind Advisory and even a Blowing Dust Advisory in some areas.

Yuma County was also issued an Air Quality Alert.

Daytime highs only reached the high 70s, but the re-emergence of high pressure will bring a quick rise in the temps in the coming days.

We should recover back up into the 90s realm of daytime highs by Sunday.
