San Diego student among victims of Ukrainian jet crash

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (KYMA, KSWT) - A student from San Diego's Alliant International University was among the 176 people killed in the crash of a Ukrainian jetliner in Tehran.

Friday afternoon the university confirmed in a Facebook post, Sara Saadat, her mother, and her sister were aboard the ill-fated flight.

The plane went down just hours after Iran launched a ballistic attack against Iraqi military bases housing U.S. troops. American, Canadian, and British intelligence suggests an Iranian missile hit the airliner. Iran denies that claims.
