Local Walmart donates nearly 5k N95 masks to Yuma Fire Department

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Yuma Fire Department (YFD) accepted a donation of 4,800 N95 masks from Walmart on Pacific Avenue on Wednesday.

Carlos Macias, Walmart store lead, presented the almost 5,000 masks to Firefighter and Paramedic Pat Estrada.

YFD says Walmart has continued to offer great support throughout the Covid-19 pandemic especially when sources were scarce.

According to YFD, they go through about 200 masks a week.

They say during the worst of the pandemic, they roughly used 600 masks a week and sometimes more.
