Arizona Governor ends COVID-19 emergency declaration
Governor says termination for declaration is effective immediately
PHOENIX (KYMA, KECY) - Arizona Governor Doug Ducey made a statement on Wednesday to end the COVID-19 emergency declaration in the state.
This termination follows a report by the Arizona Department of Health Services showing how Coronavirus isn't as widespread as before.
"Today I am terminating the state’s COVID-19 State of Emergency. Thanks to the hard work of many — health care workers, businesses, public and private sector employees — COVID-19 is no longer an emergency in Arizona," said Gov. Ducey on Twitter.
He also mentioned the termination taking effect immediately and will also be providing an extension to temporary licenses for health care workers.
"No corner of our state – no corner of our country or the world - was spared. But we met that challenge head on by prioritizing lives, livelihoods and individual liberties. The time is right to move forward," continued Gov. Ducey.
