Suspect arrested after shooting near Avenue D

SOMERTON, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Yuma County Sheriff's Office Deputies arrested a man who is suspected of shooting a man.

On Sunday evening, deputies responded to a call near County 19th Street and Avenue D, where they discovered a fight escalated to a shooting.

Somerton/Cocopah Fire Department took the victim to Yuma Regional Medical Center and is in stable condition despite having multiple gunshot wounds.

Witnesses identified a 46-year-old who was then booked for attempted 2nd-degree murder. He has been identified as Abelarde Valenzuela Conde.
