MLB planning funding program for ballpark workers

Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Major League Baseball (MLB) is helping employees missing out on work due to spring-training cancellations.

The organization said the million-dollar fund will support ballpark employees that work for the Grapefruit and Cactus Leagues, in Florida and Arizona.

The money will be distributed to stadium workers and others including concession crews, electricians and janitors.

The Players Association will work to "determine the hardest hit communities and align resource distribution to those who need it most."
