Russia-Ukraine may help in lowering mortgage rates

(KYMA, KECY/CBS) - Mortgage rates have been seeing decreases following Russia's attacks on Ukraine and the rates may continue to go down.

The 30-year fixed rate for mortgages saw an average of 3.67% by the end of March 4.

Rates saw an increase the past few weeks but now U.S. treasury yields are having investors switch over to bonds.

Freddie Mac says this decrease may only be temporary and rates may go back up in the following months.
