Tucson man convicted of 2nd-degree murder in wife’s slaying

TUCSON, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY/ AP) — A Tucson-local is being convicted for the slaying of this wife in 2019 and is now facing up to 22 years in prison.
Kenneth Russell Nelson, 45, was found guilty of second-degree murder by a Pima County Superior Court jury on Friday.
Jurors chose to lower Nelson's charge after first being accused of first-degree murder.
Cyndie Nelson was found dead in May 2019 at their home.
According to prosecutors, Cyndie's throat was slashed with a pocket knife and was stabbed many times.
Nelson's years in prison can range from 10-22 years when he's sentenced on April 4, prosecutors say.
The trial testimony shows that Cyndie Nelson asked her husband for a divorce prior to her death.
