Shocking aerials show aftermath of deadly Pennsylvania crash
PENNSYLVANIA (KYMA, KSWT, KECY) - At least five are dead and 60 are injured after a devastating crash on the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
It happened at 3:34 a.m. Sunday morning, with multiple tractor-trailers, a bus and a passenger car involved in the wreckage.
Video shows a UPS truck, a Fedex truck, an additional tractor trailer, and a charter bus on the road with extensive damage.
The rear of the Fedex truck is shown, having burst open with packages spilling out onto the road.
The tractor-trailers appear to have collided with the charter-bus, ending up on the extreme edges of the road.
The charter bus, which contained the most people, is completely turned on its side.
CNN reports the charter bus overturned when it failed to successfully complete a turn. The overturned charter-bus was then struck by the two tractor-trailers, which in turn was struck by the third tractor trailer.
Officials say a passenger car — not shown in video — was also involved in the crash.
Five people were pronounced dead at the scene. 20 patients have since been treated and released from the hospital.
An exact cause is yet to be determined , but officials say weather was not a factor. They continue to investigate.
