Arizona blood donations needed in January

Winter requires more donations

Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - January is an important month for hospitals since it's the time when Arizonans need the most blood transfusions.

Doctors refer to the winter season as the "hardest time of the year to meet patient transfusion needs," and January may be the most difficult month.

The Vitalant organization tells the story of David who was able to survive from leukemia with the help of 39 blood donors.

“Blood donors gave me a chance to get married and see another birthday and Christmas,” expressed David. “I am so inspired by their sacrifice.”

You can donate blood at the following Yuma locations and times:

Wed, Jan 19, 1pm-5pm, Yuma Regional Medical Ctr, 2400 S Ave A
