Homelessness increased by 3% in 2019
WASHINGTON D.C. (KSWT/KYMA/KECY) - HUD Secretary Ben Carson ready to turn in the report on Homelessness in the country to Congress.
The report shows that homelessness in the United States has increased by nearly 3%; driven by a spike in Homelessness in California.
California's homelessness increased by 21, 000 people having the biggest number of homeless residents. Oregon was also amongst the states with the highest homeless population.
The report did not have just bad news, homelessness was down amongst homeless families with children in several states. Homelessness amongst veterans was also down since 2018.
