Child sex offender arrested by Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents
A previously deported child sex offender from Mexico was arrested by the Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents on May 15 for illegally entering the United States.
Yuma agents said they arrested three adult Mexican nationals along the Colorado River west of Yuma.
During processing, agents identified one of the undocumented immigrants as Francisco Garcia-Robles, a 33-year-old previously deported and child sex offender from Mexico. Agents say Garcia-Robles was convicted for lewd and lascivious acts with a minor under 14 years of age in 2005 in Los Angeles.
Garcia-Robles was sentenced to one year in prison and was deported. Agents say he was arrested by The United States Border Patrol in 2007 and served 33 months in prison following his conviction for illegally entering the U.S., agents said.
The second undocumented immigrant traveling with Garcia-Robles had convictions for violating a protective order and criminal mischief out of Salt Lake County, Utah.
According to agents, the third undocumented immigrant had convictions for possession of a controlled substance for sale out of Riverside, Calif.
The three men were processed for immigration violations, agents said.
