Pet Talk: Meet Nancy and Saturn

For this week’s Pet Talk, we meet two fluffy friends.

A dog that will protect his family to the end, and a cat that loves to lounge around.

Both pets are available for adoption at the Humane Society of Yuma.

First is Nancy, a 2-year-old domestic shorthair whose friendly meows draw you in.

She is 8 pounds and has a soft coat the color of a brown seal and vanilla creamsicle.

Her cute ears continued to perk up at every sound in the room.

She has been in the shelter for a few days now as a stray.

Nancy is perfect for a family looking for a mellow cat that loves to lounge around

And then there is Saturn, a 4-year-old Akita.

He is a rambunctious boy weighing in at 76 pounds.

His sassy and playful personality makes him perfect for an active family willing to take him swimming or walking.

He is housebroken so he knows where and when to do his business.

Saturn came in as a stray so would work well with someone with just him in the home.

Akitas are burly, quiet, and fastidious dogs.

Wary of strangers and often intolerant of other animals, Akitas will gladly share their silly, affectionate side with family and friends.

They thrive on human companionship.

The large, independent-thinking Akita is hardwired for protecting those they love.

They must be well socialized from birth with people and other dogs.

Both pets are available for adoption at the Humane Society of Yuma, their number is 928-782-1621.

They are open Tuesday through Sunday.
