Yuma family remembers life of 9-year-old organ donor

April is National Donate Life month, and one Yuma family is sharing their story of their 9-year-old son giving the gift of life to four others.

Killian Anderson passed away unexpectedly New Year’s Day this year.

His mother says that Killian wanted to save lives and had the goal of becoming a Marine like his father.

According to Donate Life AZ, The National organ waiting list has 114,000 people. In Arizona, about 2,200 are on that list.

Least year there were 283 organ donors from the state of Arizona which was a new record.

They saved the lives of 779 people which was also a new record.

Jenea and Tim Anderson, Killian’s parents, say they are urging everyone to consider being an organ donor.

There is no age limit or health requirement to register as an organ and tissue donor.
