Two men arrested in connection to a shooting that left one dead, one injured
Two men are behind bars in connection with recent shootings in Brawley that happened back-to-back.
Brawley Police Chief Robert Sawyer said, “we believe that we have at least one individual in custody who’s associated with that particular shooting and potentially the second shooting that occurred the following night.”
Shots rang out Sunday and Monday night around the 300 blocks of “A” and “B” streets, respectively. Sunday’s shooting left one dead and one wounded.
” Two individuals had been affected by gunfire. One was pronounced deceased on scene and the other one was transported as previously reported, ” Sawyer said.
24-year-old Sean Miller was arrested on Wednesday. He’s charged with attempted murder.
“We had an individual stopped during a traffic stop and taken into custody as a result of some of the evidence we had on hand at the time,” Sawyer said.
And 20-year-old Christian Rodriguez is charged with murder and attempted murder.
“Second individual that was arrested early Thursday morning following a short foot pursuit,” Sawyer said.
Police are looking for more suspects and more information regarding the shootings.
“At this point, we have some initial information that leads us to believe there may be some gang involvement for those individuals responsible for the shootings,” Sawyer said.
