WEEK OF MARCH 25:

San Diego Padres in Yuma, 1969-1993

Batter up! On Thursday, March 28th, Librarian Jim Patrick will present “The San Diego Padres in Yuma, 1969-1993” at 10:30 a.m. at the Heritage Library. Spring 2019 marks the 50th anniversary of the San Diego Padres’ inaugural spring training season in Yuma. Learn about Yuma’s many tries to attract professional teams, what Padres’ players and management had to say about Yuma, and why the long, happy Yuma-Padres relationship ended in 1993. There is no charge to attend.

Debunking Viral Videos

Ever see a video that makes you wonder, “Does that really work?” Now’s your chance to find out! On Saturday, March 30th, children of all ages are invited to the Foothills Library at 1:00 p.m. for “Debunking Viral Videos!” Join us as we explore several popular viral science videos and discover if it is fact or fiction! There is no charge to attend.

Diabetes Prevention

On Saturday, March 30th, the Main Library will host “Diabetes Awareness.” Public Health Nurse Elizabeth Barerra from the Yuma County Health District will share information about ways to prevent the disease, and who is at risk for developing diabetes. There is no charge to attend.

English: 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.
Spanish: 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.
