More than 50 people were present at the ceremony, a project that couldn’t have been done without the Hall family, they donated the property in memory of their grandmother who served as an educator for more than 30 years.

” My grandmother was such a positive person, she experienced a lot of tragedy in her life but never complained, she loved everyone, she was my biggest example in life, ” said Shami Caldwel , the granddaughter of Dorothy Hall.

The process that began in 2014 with a budget of 8 million dollars that just approved a year ago and a project that is now taking off for the future generation.

” And us as a school district we take care of building the buildings of the school and making sure it has all the maintenance that it needs, ” said Leeanne Lagunas , Principal of the Dorothy Hall Elementary School.

Academic programs are already established for Dorothy Hall because Lagunas wants her students to hit the ground running come the next school year.

” We will be focused on college readiness on all of our students starting from the bottom and it works for hand and hand with being a hopes school because we believe all our kids will succeed, ” said Lagunas .

Dorothy Hall Elementary School will officially open in August of 2019 and it should certainly help with classrooms overcrowding.
