YPD releases DUI detail results

The Yuma Police Department has released results of the impaired driving detail conducted over Saint Patrick’s Day weekend.

The focus was impaired driving and the apprehension of impaired drivers.

There were a total of nine DUI arrests, five of them for misdemeanor DUI, and four of those being Extreme DUI (over .15 BAC).

In 2018, there were six DUI arrests, four of them for misdemeanor DUI, and one of those being Extreme DUI.

YPD said they had eight extra officers working and they conducted 76 traffic stops which resulted in:

3 – Sober designated drivers contacted. 19 – Speeding citations issued 4 of them for Criminal Speed. 54 – Violations cited for other than speeding. 2 – Minor in Possession. 2 – Other arrests.

YPD said the average BAC was 0.117.
