21-year-old El Centro man suspected of rape arrested

Brawley police said a 21-year-old El Centro man was arrested for an alleged rape incident Friday that authorities said allegedly happened in 2018.

The Brawley Police Department said Brandon Antonio Young was arrested at Cattle Call Park on suspicion of rape by force, statutory rape, sexual extortion, possession of child pornography, and engaging in solicitation of child pornography. He was booked into county jail on a $100,000 bond.

Police, along with the Imperial Valley Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, conducted a criminal rape investigation which led authorities to Young’s arrest.

Young was arrested at about 9:15 a.m. Friday by officers who had made arrangements to meet with him at Cattle Call Park.
