This week’s Pet Talk: Meet Lorcan and Hobo
For this week’s Pet Talk, we have a small cat with a big personality and a dog with a sweet comeback story.
One looked over for their breed, and the other their color.
Meet Lorcan, a black domestic short hair who just wants everyone to be his friend.
At only seven-months-old, Lorcan weighs five pounds.
Though he has only been at the shelter for about a month, black cats like Lorcan are sometimes looked over.
Ready to break the stereotype, Lorcan was very friendly with other cats he was visiting.
His curiosity was never ending as he wanted to play and pounce at every toy offered to him.
Perfect for a family with kids, Lorcan would be able to play with a ball of yarn for hours.
For Hobo, he was originally adopted from the shelter in November 2016.
When Hobo was rescued, he was at a house that had been abandoned.
In January, Hobo was returned to the shelter almost unrecognizable.
When he was picked up, he weighed 37 pounds.
Once a happy energetic dog, Hobo now had a brownish coat, weighing 13 pounds lighter and pale gums.
Now back to good health, having been restored to his normal weight of 50 pounds and a tail that never stops wagging, the shelter wants people to know about the seriousness of animal neglect through Hobo’s story.
Also overlooked for his pitbull mix breed, Hobo is as sweet as can be.
Strong but gentle, energetic but sweet.
