Local high school FBLA Chapter brings home Region 4 title

San Luis High School sent their Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter to regional competition and brought home a team of champions.

The Yuma Union High School District said the team of five students competed in Business Graphics at the Region 4 FBLA competition. Business Graphics is a contest where students work together to create a poster advertising a given prompt. As the prompt is not given until the competition, their ability to work as a team to create an improvised marketing collateral was vital.

Students Niara Avila, Julissa Bustamante, Paulo Cruz, Jose Montano, and Justine Rodriguez earned first place and brought home individual medals for their success. This is the first round of competition and was held at the regional level. First place winners from this contest advance to the FBLA State competition in April.

“I am excited and proud of my entire team,” said SLHS FBLA adviser Zaira Gonzalez. “They all did a great job representing San Luis High School and FBLA. I am looking forward to the next challenge.”
