Authorities clear scene after investigating suspicious package

The scene where a suspicious package was being assessed by multiple law enforcement agencies has now been cleared out, according to Border Patrol.

UPDATE (2:25 P.M.)

Border Patrol officials said the Marine Corps Air Station and Yuma County Sheriff’s Office’s explosive ordinance disposal are currently assessing a package that was received Tuesday morning.

News 11 is at the scene where multiple officers are working with the package at the parking lot of the Customs and Border Protection Headquarters in Yuma.

ORIGINAL STORY

Yuma Sector Border Patrol Headquarters received a suspicious package Tuesday morning, according to US Customs and Border Protection.

At around 8 a.m. Tuesday morning the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office and other law enforcement agencies were notified and responded to the incident.

An investigation is currently underway.
