Yuma celebrates Medjool Date Festival
There’s no such thing as a bad date at the Yuma Medjool Date Festival.
Located in the historic heart of downtown, hundreds of Yumans enjoyed the taste of a variety of dates and delicious food as well as live entertainment.
But for one sponsor it’s about having all the hard work pay off.
Rory McDade, of Southwest Medjools said, “It’s very labor intensive having a date farm. And knowing that most time in the hot time of the year. So knowing that you’re out there doing the best you can in the extreme temperatures and seeing people come out and enjoy your product, it puts a smile on your face.”
The theme of this year’s festival was a “tasty celebration” and by the looks on festival goers faces, it was just that.
