STUDY: Arizona home to some of the least skilled drivers

Being able to own and drive a vehicle can make you feel independent. It comes with risks and responsibilities when you hit the road.

When it comes to dangerous driving, Arizona ranks in the top 10 in several different categories, according to a new study.

Your Mechanic, an auto service website, analyzed several statistics to come up with their findings.

Those factors include driver death rate, pedestrian and cyclist death rate, drunk driving amongst others.

Arizona ranked third in the nation for having the least skilled drivers.

The other category where Arizona ranked was for aggressive drivers. Arizona ranked 10th on the list, while neighboring California ranked first.

Montana topped the list for worst average driver skill.

These statistics come after Arizona lawmakers proposed tougher cell phone regulations behind the wheel.
