Local food bank feels impact from government shutdown

The Yuma Community Food Bank is feeling the local impact of the recent government shutdown that is now into week three.

“We have seen an increase of people calling us saying if we still have food available,” said Michelle Merkley , Director of Operations of the Yuma Community Food Bank.

Merkley said that food bank has enough food in inventory and that residents in the community should continue to come to the food bank for assistance.
