Pet Talk: Meet Shakira and Pecan

Happy Pet Talk day. In this edition of Pet Talk, we are featuring two cats with very distinct looks.

First up is Shakira. According to her records, she has been at the shelter since May 2018. She is a Tortoiseshell cat, which means she is known for her “tortitude” aka attitude. However, other than being playful, Shakira seems to get along with people and other cats around her. She is estimated to be less than a year old and really enjoys exploring and doing her own thing. Her curious disposition would be great for a first-time cat owner.

Next is Pecan. Pecan is estimated to be almost 4-years-old. He was a stray found in Yuma. Pecan has a very distinct look to him almost like he has some Siamese in him. Shy at first, he warms up quickly. He seems to enjoy the company of other cats and prefers to just cuddle rather than explore. For unknown reasons, Pecan has a bobbed tail. Quite an unexpected and cute feature of his. He is estimated to weigh about 10 pounds.

If you are interested either Pecan or Shakira, you can call the Humane Society of Yuma at (928) 782-1621. They are open Tuesday through Sunday.
