Cancellation of ‘Discover the Desert Day’ in Imperial due to shutdown

Due to the government shutdown, the ‘Discover the Desert Day’ event planned at the Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation area has been canceled.

The family-friendly event is held to celebrate filming on public lands, and specifically “Return of the Jedi” from the much beloved Star Wars franchise.

The event was scheduled for February 2, 2019.
