Sanguinetti house museum brings history to life

The Sanguinetti House museum has created a way for people to learn more about the history of Yuma County and the special sites around town.

From a Prison bus tour to a ghost walking tour, the museum’s hope is for the people of Yuma County to not only learn the history of their town but experience it as well.

This season, the museum will be offering 6 different historic tours, based on stories from local history.

Even ghost tours (haunted history tours) are filled with historical accounts…from Yuma’s darker side…about murders and mayhem from Yuma’s history books.

I got a chance to experience the newest tour, the 3:10 to Prison bus tour.

The Sanguinetti House Museum and Gardens has been referred to as the Jewel of Historic Yuma.

This historic house museum was the home of E. F. Sanguinetti, a businessman who called Yuma his home.

Today, the Sanguinetti House is owned by the Arizona Historical Society.

Their mission is to bring stories from Yuma’s history to life through tours.

The Sanguinetti House is located at 240 S. Madison Avenue in historic Yuma.

It is open for visitors Tuesday-Saturday from 10 am – 3 pm.

Tickets can be bought at the museum or on their website, and range from $15 to $50.

Tours will be going on from January through April.
