Arizona Leadership Foundation Celebrates New $320K Scholarship Donation
The Arizona Leadership Foundation presented a hefty check to benefit K-12 students throughout Yuma and Nogales interested in attending private schools. The special announcement also featured an Olympic medalist.
The Arizona Leadership Foundation announced a scholarship contribution of $320,000 by 1st bank Yuma to benefit low-income students in the community.
The celebration was followed by a luncheon and Arizona’s first ever Olympic medalist, Lyndsey Fry.
Fry gave students in attendance an inspirational speech about her journey and the obstacles she had to overcome as a woman hockey player.
A lot of people did not think I could compete for the Olympics or in college but I was able to do that and it was because I took all those doubts that people had about me and used it as fuel…And I hope this is what kids get out of it, no matter what it is you want of life if you work hard every single day you can achieve that.- Lyndsey Fry, Olympic Medalist.
In attendance was President of Arizona Leadership Foundation, Aaron Muth, President and CEO of 1st bank of Yuma, Terry Frydenlund and several local private schools.
