Secretary of the United States Army visits YPG
Secretary of the United States Army Dr. Mark Esper visited the fourth-largest facility in the Department of Defense in terms of land area, the Yuma Proving Grounds.
Dr. Esper spoke with soldiers on their up-to-date training, maintenance, and equipment including the parachute unit.
“The work that’s being done here in Yuma by our military and our civilians is critical to the nation’s security,” said Dr. Esper.
Dr. Esper added that Yuma will be a tremendous asset to the future growth of the Army, including the weapons used for combat.
“We want to make sure that we deploy weapon systems that work as we expect them to that they deliver to the soldiers when they need them,” Dr. Esper.
In Arizona, there are five major military installations with YPG serving as the Army’s busiest testing organizations in the past nine years.
