Care packages sent to local troops deployed overseas

A local group is sending love to troops overseas.

The El Centro American Legion Auxiliary Unit #25 is showing troops overseas they care. They’re sending over 150 care packages to local National Guard troops deployed in Quatar. This is the 6 th year they’re doing it. The packages include many goodies and letters from local school kids thanking them for their service.

Auxiliary President Dawn Rascoe said, “Sometimes they don’t get any gifts. They’re over, they don’t have family, or they just don’t get gifts. There are limits on what they can get while they’re there, so we like to send a little special something for them.”

If anyone wants to help the auxiliaries in helping troops, they can contact them on their Facebook page American Legion Post #25.
