Vitalant stresses the importance of blood donors during holidays
Vitalant is Arizona’s largest non-profit blood provider and they are stressing the need for blood donors during the holidays.
Donna Singleton is the Donor Recruitment Representative and says that donors have no idea how much they are truly helping.
“When someone donates blood it’s important to realize that they are really saving a life. We always need blood donors of all types, but at this time we do have a special need for O negative donors those are the donors that is the universal donor which can be given to any patient when there is no time to type their blood,” said Singleton.
Vitalant is encouraging everyone to donate at their upcoming blood drives:
San Luis: Saturday, November 17, from 9 am to 1 p.m. at the San Luis Community, 800 E Juan Sanchez Blvd, Fernando Padilla Comm Ctr Somerton: Thursday, December 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Somerton Police Department Yuma: Thursday, November 15, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Cibola High School Friday, November 16, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Vista Alternative High School Tuesday, November 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Yuma Regional Medical Center Wednesday, November 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Yuma Regional Medical Center Saturday, December 15, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the St John Neuman Catholic Church
