IVC takes a stand against bullying

The Imperial Valley College held an “Anti-bullying Event” on campus to help students become advocates and not victims.

Speakers at the event engaged with students on the importance of seeking help and taking a stand against bullying.

School officials want the campus to be a safe environment for students and for them to know that there are resources available to them.

IVC Mental Health Counselor, Lupita Castro said, “If they don’t know we are here, they don’t know that is something we should all be talking about. So we can stop this type of behavior. They will just probably continue believing (it’s)something they should be quiet and don’t make it like a drama. Or don’t make it an issue on campus.”

School officials hope to hold this type of event once a semester.
